Jon + Gecko = Jecko!
Jecko's Geckos LLC started as a hobby breeder working for Pangea Reptile in 2008. Here, Jon developed gecko husbandry skills, established a gecko community network, and started working with rarer geckos. During this time Jon received his first groups of Eurydactylodes agricolae and E. vieillardi. Soon after Strophurus ciliaris caught his attention. These geckos have a unique defense mechanism. When frightened, the geckos will shoot a sticky substance out of their tails. These geckos are distantly related yet convergently evolved a similar defense. Jon hopes to study this system in the future.
